目前至少已有近六十種分屬20個家族的受體酪氨酸激酶被子識別。所有受體酷氨酸激酶都屬于I型膜蛋白,其分子具有相似的拓樸結構:糖基化的胞外配體結合區,疏水的單次跨膜區,以及胞內的酪氨酸激酶催化結構域及調控序列。不同受體酪氨酸激酶結合,將導致受體發生三聚化,并進一步使受體胞內區特異的受體酪氨酸殘基發生自身磷酸化或交叉磷酸化,從而激活下游的信號轉導通路。許多腫瘤的發生、發展都與酪氨酸激酶的異常表達有著極其密切的。

弓形蟲病是由一種剛地弓形蟲(Toxoplasma gondii)引起的人和動物的感染。弓形蟲屬于形體zui小、結構簡單的一類叫作原蟲的寄生蟲。貓和其他貓科動物是弓形蟲的終宿主,它寄生在這些動物的小腸上皮細胞內,形成囊合子(許多文章稱作“囊合子”,不夠準確)隨糞便排出,其他哺乳動物和鳥吃進去發生感染,在它們身體的組織內發育成為包囊。囊合子和包囊是弓形蟲的不同發育階段。雖然弓形蟲并不“挑剔”,但是除了終宿主以外,在其他動物體內只能進行無性繁殖,不能向外界散播它的后代。
弓形蟲屬頂端復合物亞門(subphylum Apicomplexa),孢子蟲綱(clss sporozoasida),真球蟲目(order Eucoccidiorida),細胞內寄生性原蟲,其生活史中出現5種形態,即滋養體(速殖子,tachyzoite);包囊(可長期存活于組織內),呈圓形或橢圓形,直徑10~200μm,破裂后可釋出緩殖子,(bradyzoite);裂殖體;配子體和囊合子(oocyst),前3期為無性生殖,后2期為有性生弓形蟲生活史的完成需雙宿主:在終宿主(貓與貓科動物)體內,上述5種形成俱存;在中間宿主(包括禽類,哺乳類動物和人)體內則僅有無性生殖而無有性生殖,無性生殖常可造成全身感染,有性生殖僅在終宿主腸粘膜上皮細胞內發育造成局部感染,囊合子由貓糞排出,發育成熟后含二個孢子囊(sporocyst),各含4個子孢子(sporozoite),在電鏡下子孢子的結構與滋養體相似,囊合子被貓舔食后,在其腸中,囊內的子孢子逸出,侵入回腸末端粘膜上皮細胞進行裂體增殖,細胞破裂后裂殖子逸出,侵入附近的細胞,繼續裂體增殖,部分則發育為雌雄配子體,進行配子增殖,形成囊合子,后者落入腸腔,在適宜溫度(24℃)和濕度環境中,約經2~4天發育成熟,抵抗力強,可存活1年以上,如被中間宿主吞入,則進入小腸后子孢子穿過腸壁,隨血液或淋巴循環播散全身各組織細胞內以縱二分裂法(endodyogeny)進行增殖,在細胞內可形成多個蟲體的集合體,稱假包囊(pseudocyst),囊內的個體即滋體或速殖子,為急性期病例的常見形態,宿主細胞破裂后,滋養體散出再侵犯其他組織細胞,如此反復增殖,可致宿主死亡,但更多見的情況是宿主產生免疫力,使原蟲繁殖減慢,其外有囊壁形成,稱包囊,囊內原蟲稱緩殖子,包囊在中間宿主體內可存在數月,數年,甚至終生(呈陷抗原抗體染狀態)。
