The electrochemical division of Thomas RECORDING has developed microelectrodes for electrochemical or SECM applications.
Our single core microelectrodes consist a single platinum or platinum-tungsten wire insulated by quartz glass. Different tip shapes and RG ratios are available.
The multi core microelectrodes consist of up to 7 independent platinum/tungsten wires insulated from each other by quartz glass.  These microelectrodes are available in a 7- or 4-cores version.
The use of Thomas RECORDING heptodes (7 cores) as ring-disc electrodes was first described by the research group of Professor Heinze at the University of Freiburg, Germany in 2002 .
